Harrogate, United Kingdom

The Victorian spa town of Harrogate in North Yorkshire will be our Festival location for 2018. Situated east of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the town has a reputation for luxurious getaways and people have been flocking here since the 1800s to enjoy the air, space and take the famous waters. Modern day Harrogate continues this theme with acres of open space in the town, quality boutique shops, tearooms and restaurants serving food from every corner of the world.

The Harrogate District is a mixture of high fells and peaks, steep-sided valleys shaped by millennia of slowly moving glaciers and rolling hills of luscious farmland. Scattered throughout are chocolate-box villages with traditional stone buildings, floral displays, church towers and welcoming pubs. The Dales towns of Grassington, Pateley Bridge, Knaresborough and Boroughbridge with their cobbled streets have a deep and fascinating history. The flourishing and ancient city of York is only 30 minutes away. You can take a look at photographs of the area on the “Gallery” tab above (some are taken in February snow which is picturesque but we don't expect it in September!).

Our venue for the Feast will be The Majestic Hotel, a 170-room palatial and stately Victorian property dating from 1899, located in 8 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens in the heart of the gorgeous spa town of Harrogate. Services will be held in the Carriage Suite where in years gone by guests arrived by horse and carriage. The hotel has an ornate interior with stunning chandeliers maintaining its period character. It also has a fully equipped Spa and Health Club and complimentary parking for our conference.

The significantly-reduced room pricing for B&B rates per night at The Majestic Hotel for a Double/Twin Standard Rm (Single Occupancy) £70, Double/Twin Standard Rm (Double Occupancy) £80, with Family Rooms from £90. All accommodation rates and the hotel reservation number can be found on the “Accommodations” tab above. There is a wide variety of other hotel, B&B and self-catering accommodation in the town and surrounding area, although the most convenient is The Majestic. A link to the Harrogate Tourist Information website is to the right for your assistance.

The train from London takes 3 hours and the nearest major International Airport is Manchester (about 70 miles away). We anticipate ample space for overseas visitors this year, and our UK & Irish members look forward to warmly welcoming you to Harrogate.
