Stillbaai, South Africa

This beautiful seaside resort is well-known for its peaceful atmosphere.  The warm Indian Ocean washes onto miles of unspoilt white beaches on either side of the Goukou River, providing ideal conditions for watersports of every conceivable kind.

Stilbaai is host to a number of interesting archaeological sites, including ancient fish traps thought to have been built by early ancestors of the Khoi people of the Southern Cape, and a shell landfill that has been carbon dated to around 1000 BC.

Another archaeological site is situated in a group of caves at Blombos cave, about 12 kilometers from Stilbaai.

Stilbaai is also known as the Bay of Sleeping Beauty.  It is a town along the southern coast of South Africa, about 4 hours by car from Cape Town.  The nearest international airport is Cape Town, with local flights to both Cape Town and George (about 1.5 hours from Stilbaai).

Inverroche distillery is only one of the many attractions available in Stilbaai and is located just outside Stilbaai, where a unique and fascinating experience is offered to visitors.  Several gin tastings and distillery tours are held daily, and visitors are introduced to three elegant fynbos gins made according to traditional recipes.

Stilbaai offers a variety of accommodation ranging from Self-catering Guest Houses to B&Bs.  Please visit the Stilbaai Tourism website at http://www.stilbaaitourism.co.za/ for more information.

All attending the Feast need to make their own booking arrangements.  However, if you need assistance, please contact John Laggar at +2766 227 2888 or by e-mail at [email protected].
